Notes:

Bowman's Hill on the Delaware River south of New Hope PA was a favorite subject of the New Hope school of the Pennsylvania Impressionists.

Adams seems to have been standing on the east flank of the hill with a view up the Delaware river valley and the Thompson Neely House, now part of Washington Crossing State Park, in the middle distance. Richardson Adams stated in an interview that he painted this work en plein air along side Daniel Garber.

Other artists works based on the subject of Bowman's Hill include Richard Wedderspoon (here) and John F. Folinsbee (here).
